Pyotr Miklashevich was first appointed Chairman of the Constitutional Court in Belarus in February 2008. In this role in August 2020 he has led the Constitutional Court to legitimise the flawed election of President Lukashenko. He is therefore responsible for supporting the repression of civil society and the democratic opposition and has undermined democracy and the rule of law in Belarus.
